Our Logo

To start off, F&W in our title is abbreviated. The full name is "Fox and Wolf Productions", but the abbreviation rolls nicely off the tongue. The fox represents me, the wife. The fox is placed in front because I am the artist of everything you see in our shop. Our wedding was, I think, the real starting point of our business. I illustrated and designed our invitations, cards, cardboard cut out, and more! I love creating things that make me giggle and laugh or make me put my hands on my cheeks and say, "AWWWW!".

My husband was determined to be my rock for this business after seeing how much joy comes from my work to others and myself. He works hard with financials, paper cutting, research, (emotional support), and so much more. The wolf represents my husband. Although the wolf is behind the fox in the logo, he is illustrated as the larger, stronger character of the two. They both have their different talents. They need each other to support the other in where the other lacks, and, together, they create an unstoppable team.

"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor. If either of them falls down, one can help the other up." Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

Our Creative Process

The Illustration Process

Everything you see starts out with a traditional pencil and paper. I do everything from scratch with references. After my sketch is finished, I outline the desired lines from my sketch in black ink, then erase the pencil once the inking is completed. A photo is taken of that illustration and edited to a black and white image so that the program I use recognizes a defined image only including black and white. That way it can near to perfectly select the black linework created from the ink. A layer containing the linework and a transparent underlay is created so that color can be rendered between the lines. Everything is colored digitally as well. Ironically, I dislike using watercolor traditionally, but it works well with me digitally and with the overall aesthetic of my work.

Production

After everything is finished being illustrated, those images are either printed on a special quality paper for prints or on various types of sticker paper depending on what item we are creating.  All the prints and stickers are made in-house by my husband and I after countless hours and some sleepless nights.  Doing this manufacturing process makes us feel more involved in the business as an entrepreneurs, and it makes us so excited to work together to problem solve and create things we love.  We want to ensure that you all get excellent quality products; so, we do everything we can to put all of our love and effort in what we do.
